Dr. Kathy Pesavento has been a physical therapist since 1994 and has received a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Lehigh University, a Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy (with academic honors) from the University of Miami School of Medicine, and a clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University. Dr. Pesavento started her career in Orthopedics, but moved to Women’s Health and Pelvic Physical Therapy after experiencing her own problems during and after her two pregnancies. These experiences made her keenly aware of the need for physical therapists to specialize in treating the unique problems that affect women at the various stages of life. The combination of her training and her personal experiences has proven to be a perfect recipe for a knowledgeable and empathic provider, who truly understands what her patients are going through.
Dr. Pesavento has completed an extensive amount of coursework in pelvic physical therapy and women’s health. Her expertise in orthopedics, biomechanics, and certification in trigger point therapy/dry needling has proven to be the perfect complement to treating women’s health issues as many of them coexist with musculoskeletal problems, such as pelvic, low back and/or hip pain and dysfunction, and improper pelvic alignment. Dr. Pesavento works one-on-one with each patient and exclusively treats diagnoses related to the pelvis (including bladder, bowel, and sexual dysfunction), abdomen, low back, hips and thighs.
