Kristi is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She had an exceptional rotation in sports medicine at Duke University. She also has a clinical Doctorate degree from Pacific University, Oregon. She has additional certifications in Pelvic Physical Therapy from the American Physical Therapy Association, APTA.
She initially chose to pursue pelvic rehab to help an individual in distress. While assessing a lady's musculoskeletal issues, the lady confessed: "the pain is bad, yes, but what really drives me crazy is the urine streaming out of me all the time." Kristi offered to refer the lady to the local pelvic floor PT, but, there was none. Luckily, Herman and Wallace were teaching nearby, and Kristi took the Level 1 class just to help that patient. Ten years, many classes, and hundreds of happy patients later, she passed the inaugural PRPC exam through Herman and Wallace, and commends the Institute for its commitment to reviewing, applying, and presenting research in the field.
Kristi now promotes the importance of proper pelvic floor function, not only for incontinence, but also to help correct people's other muscle, joint, coordination, mobility, and pain problems. In her extensive experience as a physical therapist, she has focused on critical appraisal of research, advanced manual therapy, and evidence-based exercise science, applied to the specific issues that men, women, and children can face as their bodies grow, change, and are challenged. This means she treats the body from head to toe, and everywhere in between. Integration of body movement systems is key!
She opened the doors of Simply Results Physical Therapy in 2006 to provide a quiet, safe place for healing, an atmosphere to foster clarity of thought to enhance goal-setting and all needed equipment to assist with optimal results.
When Kristi is not treating patients, she can be found spending time with her family. Kristi is also a very physically active individual who got hooked on training while preparing for her first half-Ironman Triathlon several years ago. She is training steadily for multiple events this year and is a sponsor for the Chico Triathlon Club. She offers running clinics for the Chico High Cross Country team and the Chico Triathlon Club.
