Katie spent the first two years of her career working in Baltimore, MD focusing on pediatrics and spinal cord injury. Although she loved the impact this type of work had on her patient’s quality of life, she wanted to develop a diverse set of skills before focusing in one area. Katie worked as a contract therapist in Arizona, Washington, Minnesota, and Hawaii in a variety of settings where she developed her orthopedic skills and was exposed to the field of pelvic rehabilitation. While living in Hawaii, Katie became a certified pilates instructor and began her training in pelvic rehabilitation. In 2009, Katie moved to Colorado where she began treating male and female pelvic floor clients in an outpatient orthopedic setting. She has taken continuing education courses in the areas of pelvic dysfunction, pregnancy and postpartum, visceral manipulation, neural manipulation, craniosacral therapy, lymphatic drainage, and pilates. In 2011, Katie relocated to the Baltimore area and began working at ITR. In 2012, she joined Jennifer Chu in opening ITR Physical Therapy of Towson. Katie has seen great results in her patients when combining the benefits of visceral manipulation techniques, specificity of core and pelvic exercises, and manual techniques to improve tissue mobility and function. She believes she learns something from each patient that walks in the door. Katie is committed to providing the best care possible to help patients to reach their goals as well as continuing her own education. In February 2013, Katie became one of the first PTs to earn her Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification (PRPC) through Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehab Institute.
