Michelle has been a licensed Physical Therapist since 2007. She graduated with her Masters in Physical Therapy from Armstrong State University, and immediately returned to school to complete her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the Medical College of Georgia. She began her career as a certified Vestibular therapist through the American Institute of Balance, and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist since 2008 through the NSCA working in an outpatient orthopedic clinic. Her career led her to be certified in the mechanical diagnosis and treatment of spine and extremity pain, which gave her extensive knowledge on the treatment of back and neck pain.
Her personal experience of pregnancy, labor, delivery, and the first year postpartum had the largest impact on her career trajectory because she realized the severe lack of support, resources, and guidance for women in this stage of their life. This propelled her to pursue pelvic floor certification through the Herman and Wallace Institute. After working for local community hospitals for 14 years she opened a private practice called Brighter Day Physical Therapy & Wellness to offer personalized guidance, treatment, and education to men and women.
She is experienced and qualified to perform pelvic floor therapy for ALL individuals for all pelvic floor dysfunction including pain, pelvic organ prolapse, urinary and/or bowel dysfunction, gender confirmation surgery, post cancer treatment. I have a special interest in pregnancy care, and postpartum management. I also continue to enjoy the treatment of dizziness and balance, back and neck pain, and orthopedic performance and rehab.
Michelle is also passionate about community outreach to spread awareness of pelvic floor health! In her "spare" time she enjoys being a mom to 4 beautiful blessings, professional photography @liveinjoyphotography, and exercising in any form.
