Carole High Gross, PT, MS, DPT, PRPC earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Arcadia University in 2015, and her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy in 1992 from Thomas Jefferson University, College of Graduate Studies. Carole earned her Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification and enjoys working as a Pelvic Clinical Rehabilitation Specialist for Lehigh Valley Health Network in Palmer Township, Pennsylvania. Carole also currently serves as a Lead Teaching Assistant for the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute for pelvic floor education courses.

She has developed this course on eating disorders to increase awareness and understanding. Individuals with eating disorders do not realize that pelvic health rehabilitation professionals can assist with GI distress, bowel and bladder dysfunction, and pelvic pain. Pelvic rehab professionals typically do not have a thorough understanding of the challenges that people with eating disorders endure. Furthermore, healthcare professionals, in general, do not know enough about eating disorders OR pelvic rehabilitation. In addition, weight stigma is a real concern with health care and rehabilitation. Carole realized that she wanted to be a part of making these connections, increasing awareness, and hopefully improving the recovery process for many with eating disorders through education programs such as this Herman & Wallace Course.

Carole also serves on the Pelvic Workgroup of the Ehlers-Danlos International Consortium. The International Consortium’s latest project that Carole has had the privilege to work on with the pelvic workgroup is pregnancy and postpartum guidelines for individuals with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS) which is being submitted for publication in 2023. Carole has a special interest in working with individuals living with eating disorders, hypermobility and throughout the pregnancy and postpartum journey. In addition, Carole enjoys working with all genders with pelvic, bowel, bladder, and abdominal issues. Carole is passionate about lifelong learning, collaboration, and teamwork. She resides in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and enjoys spending time with her family and pups.
