Herman & Wallace offers Continuing Education Courses Pregnancy in a seminar designed for the clinician who will be treating pregnant and postpartum patients and for the clinician interested in expanding her/his practice to include this population with evidence based treatment techniques. The course was developed by Herman & Wallace cofounder Hollis Herman, PT, DPT, MS, OCS, WCS, BCB-PMD and is titled PP - Pregnancy and Postpartum.

Upon completion of this continuing education seminar, participants will be able to:
1. Describe the major hormonal changes that occur during pregnancy.
2. Describe the circulatory and respiratory changes that occur during pregnancy.
3. Describe the musculoskeletal changes that occur during pregnancy.
4. Describe the stages of labor and delivery and how physical therapy can assist.
5. Describe the common spinal, pelvic and foot dysfunctions that occur during pregnancy and treatment techniques appropriate for the dysfunctions.
6. Describe the affects of exercise on the fetus and the accepted exercise guidelines.
7. Describe a cesarean section and the treatment techniques appropriate for rehabilitation.
8. Define high risk pregnancy and the controversies of bed rest.
9. Define the postpartum period.
10.Describe the controversies of an episiotomy.
11. Demonstrate use of a portable SEMG unit for labor and delivery.
