Mobilization with movement refers to a set of manual therapy techniques designed to be pain-free and deliver immediate, long lasting benefit to the patient while using functional or physiologic movement. This two-day education course is dedicated to the application mobilization with movement to conditions and diagnoses presenting in the Lumbo-Pelvic-Hip areas of the body. The course has been designed specifically for Herman & Wallace health care professionals licensed to perform joint mobilizations who wish to broaden their existing manual therapy skills for use within their defined scope of practice.
Anatomy and arthrokinematics for each body region will be reviewed prior to learning hands-on techniques. Clinical reasoning skills for application of manual therapy skills will be continuously stressed throughout the course. As with all manual techniques, handling skills are imperative and, at the end of the program, true understanding of the concept of mobilization with movement will result in immediate implementation into the clinic setting. As a bonus, the afternoon of day two will expose the group to the Motion Guidance laser visual feedback system during core stabilization exercise. This new, innovative system developed by G. Talmadge Blair, DPT, gives immediate visual feedback to both patient and practitioner for enhanced motor learning and understanding faulty movement patterns to maximize the benefit of stabilization exercise.
