Jennifer Celso, PT, DPT, PhD(c), WCS

Jennifer Celso (she/her) is a Kansas Licensed Physical Therapist since 2001 and is a Board-Certified Women’s Health Specialist through the American Physical Therapy Association’s Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. Jennifer earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Service, Organization, and Policy in 1999 followed by a master’s degree in physical therapy in 2001 from Wichita State University. She completed her Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree from Northeastern University in Boston, MA in 2009 and a PhD in 2023 from Texas Women’s University in Dallas, TX. Her dissertation “A comparison of overall function between postpartum women with and without diastasis rectus abdominis,” is in line with her research focus and goal to bring awareness to postpartum needs of women. She is a Teaching Professor for the Department of Physical Therapy at Wichita State University, where she teaches differential diagnosis, real-time ultrasound, and all women’s health curriculum. Jennifer owned a private women’s health practice from 2012-2019 and now practices at Summit Physical Therapy in Wichita, Kansas.

Dr. Celso is certified in dry needling and manual therapy and has been practicing pelvic floor rehabilitation since 2004. She has served as a teaching assistant and lead teaching assistant for Herman & Wallace since 2009 and has joined the Herman & Wallace Faculty as an instructor teaching pessary fitting and management. Jennifer is very passionate about women’s health education and enjoys training other PTs to help as many people with pelvic floor dysfunction as possible.

Personally, Jennifer has been happily married to her husband Matt since 1998, and they keep busy with their 3 adult/teenage children, Brandon, Joey, and Kaitlyn. She enjoys hobbies such as photography and scrapbooking, and watching her daughter compete in volleyball and soccer.
