Dr. Alayna Newton, DPT, PT, FAFS, (she/her) is a dedicated Doctor of Physical Therapy on a mission to advance natural healing and holistic rehabilitation interventions and modalities. Specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of complex medical cases related to chronic pain and physical imbalances, she utilizes a functional medicine approach to rehabilitation, with a specific focus on addressing the root cause of conditions while integrating holistic pathways for optimal healing. Her focus on advancing the clinical applications of cutting-edge modalities and interventions, including photobiomodulation, aims to improve patient outcomes and promote natural healing. Additionally, she strives to increase awareness and access to individualized integrative holistic rehabilitation care, emphasizing preventative methods to avoid chronic pain and unnecessary surgeries.
She received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at The College of Saint Scholastica and became a Pelvic Health Physical Therapist through the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute. In 2020, she returned to Hawaii, where she grew up, to establish her pelvic health and orthopedic sport and spine clinical practice, Holistic Hawaii. Dr. Newton integrates photobiomodulation into her patient care models at Holistic Hawaii, enhancing the effectiveness of her treatments. She specializes in the application of functional movement, with robust expertise in working to influence the body's myofascial architecture. She is a Fellow of Applied Functional Science, granted by the Gary Gray Institute of Functional Movement. Additionally, her expertise is elevated as an Advanced Level Myofascial Release Specialist through the John Barnes MFR Approach.
