Quozette Valera (aka Dr. Q) is a licensed physical therapist and born & bred Southern Californian practicing in her hometown Long Beach. The beginning of her career was spent at a four-month orthopedic internship at the Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi working with active duty military, and honing her skills as a manual therapist. Dr. Q spent three years treating an extensive range of patients in outpatient orthopedics prior to specializing in the treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction and conditions that affect bladder, bowel, and sexual function. She works close/y with patients as they navigate through pregnancy and postpartum recovery, and having witnessed how isolating and overwhelming this experience can be, she felt called to pursue further training as a childbirth educator and postpartum doula through the Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association (CAPPA). Combining her clinical experience with her trainings in birthwork, she developed and created her own comprehensive childbirth & postpartum education class: Birth & Beyond by Q. Because this work involves discussing the most intimate and important parts of daily lite, which-for most peop/e-is a difficult conversation to have, she is passionate about Dr. Q is passionate about utilizing her clinical and interpersonal skills to spread awareness, provide quality of care, and advocate for patients with pelvic f/oor dysfunction.
