Nicholas Gaffga, MD, MPH, FAAFP
Hi! My name is Niko Gaffga, and I am so excited and honored to be part of the TA team at Herman and Wallace. I am a family medicine physician seeing patients in Atlanta, Georgia in a primary care outpatient setting. I have the privilege to work in the rewarding field of women’s health. There are many aspects to health improvement that we, as physicians, can learn from physical therapists, especially in the field of pelvic health. To become a more effective physician and have more options to offer my patients, I started taking courses at Herman and Wallace about 2 years ago, and I have now taken and been TA for all the courses in the pelvic floor series. I have also taken the male pelvic health course, athletes and pelvic rehabilitation, trauma-informed care, and sexual medicine in pelvic rehabilitation. With each class, I learn an enormous amount, in terms of information and also in terms of approach to patient care. I work hard to find ways to incorporate these into my own practice. With every class I TA with Herman and Wallace, I strive to bring a fresh perspective to the participants. I love teaching, I love sharing the experience I have accumulated over the years, I love walking with people on their career journeys, and I especially love participating in that moment during a class when there is a new recognition, a new connection, a new sense of ohhhh…that’s how that works!!! THAT is why I love being a TA. Thank you for your acceptance and trust. I hope to see you in class one day soon!
